For Mr Polly i chose a spot colour of orange because the £10 note uses orange as its color. I want to test the cover out in the £5 and £20 note colours too just to see what it looks like. I only chose this colour as a quick test to see what it would look like. Eventually i would take a spot colour from one of my chosen notes for the colour of this cover.

For Tono Bungay i decided to go for this striking yellow which i felt worked well and resembled the warning signs so there was a bit more meaning to the colour i have chosen.

And finally for the Love and Mr Lewisham i chose a pinky red colour as i thought this kind of colour would resemble the word love best. I still need to experiment with different shades of this colour but im happy with where the colour situation is going.

After testing the layout on these covers i am quiet happy where the covers are going overall. I feel the colours are working against the black design and i need to make a decision about whether i want the spine of the book to be reversed black or just the normal spot colour. I think either way is working really nicely.
I did a mock up of the three chosen designs. I chose the covers with a small symbol representing the book because i thought this was simple and worked really well as i know the inside of the book cover is going to have a repeated pattern inside. However in the crit i got told:
1. That the symbols look a bit too clip arty [which i wasn't happy about, if they has looked at my blog then they would have seen why i made this decision]
2. A pattern on the back or if something happened when the book cover was folded, it would look more interesting.
My plan of action:
>I am going to develop my ideas further to see much i can push them.
>I need to make some decisions, quick!
>I can't please everyone with my designs and as long i know i have a good reason for doing what im doing, i should be ok.
