Colour

For the colour systems i tried out different spot colours to see the different possibilities.

For the Tono Bungay i tested a variety of yellow spot colours, even though the yellow needed to be bright and similar to the ones found on warning signs, i thought i would test a few shades out just to see what they would look like.

After testing these, i found the bright yellow [middle, top row] was definitely the most relevant and the most effective as the black contrasted well against the yellow. I felt the others were either too dark or too bright and it also didn't relate to the colour of the warning signs that well.

Below are the colour tests for The History of Mr Polly book title. The colour tests show the spot colours which i picked up from the £5, £10 and £20 note which i previously posted on my blog. Here are my results:

I haven't chosen a colour yet as i need the colout to work well with my other two chosen colours.

For the Love and Mr Lewisham covers i felt the pinks were working well. I weren't too sure about the red and i also like the redy pink as it worked well against the black and becuase it wasn't red or pink which are the obvious colours for 'love' i thought this was a good colour to get away with it. But i want to see what they look like with the colours so i will test them to see which ones look the best.
