Other context

In context

I photographed the books where i felt they would fit best and where i thought people were most likely to put them.

Re-shoot images

I did another shoot of my final products so they were more focused on the design on the books. I think these images are much better for my boards.

Crit Feedback

After the Crit people felt the box was a bit too big for the books, bookmarks and posters and they also felt the gradient was not good enough for a limited edition collection. So after speaking to the people in my crit, they felt that the design would look stronger on its own as the box distracts you a bit from what you actually get in the set.

Initial idea for tag

Development

Final Chosen layout

Mock up

Tag mock and measurments

Final chosen label

I chose this as i quiet like the fact that the gradient was going from a light colour to a dark color.

Decision about the type on the label

The reflection on the orion logo just evens the type out on this design. I feel the other layouts with the orion logo looked a bit out of place.

Measurements for the label to fit around the box

Size around the box...
A2 strip-59.4 x 7cm
Whole box-72.72 x 7cm
Lid- 21cm

I wanted my strip to not be too wide or too thin around my box, so i decided on having the strip to be 7cm in height as i thought this was perfect.

Mock up i did for going around the box

Test fold

I did a test fold on a print just to see how it was going to fold when it is placed in box. With this folding i did a quick eye test and folded the poster, and it fit in the box perfectly!

Box

I placed the books and bookmarks into the box to see how things were going to fit together. I haven't added the posters yet but i will, i just need to fold them. I placed black shiny material inside the box to give it a more 'special feel' so it didn't just feel like opening anything ordinary. I thought this would have been a good idea for designing something limited edition.

My Plan from here:
>Need to get the folders folded
>Need to somehow place and stick the fabric into the inside of the box so it doesn't look like its just there, however i do like the idea of the audience having to opening the fabric themselves to find what's inside.
>Need to design some kind of label or wrap around to be placed around the box to keep it together, add a title and just to make it that little bit special. I have also thought about designing a little booklet which will be attached onto the label to inform people about what is inside the box and also educate them a little about the author.
